January trip to Canada ~ 2006
It was a great trip, great time to see family and friends!
I can’t believe the turn out of people we had at the open house! I don’t think Dad ever had that many people at the house, if so, I don’t remember, either way, the house was packed, over 100 people!
Thank you for coming! It meant the world to me and Matt and especially Rae when she is old enough to see the photos and read the guestbook and look through the cards.
So thank you.
It was so nice to spend time with my sisters, just be able to relax have fun, have a glass of wine and play some board games.
We hung out at my Dads for awhile, then shot to Oakville for some fun with the old church family! It was super to see them all and worship with them again.
We stayed with friends of ours that are actually from the south that moved up there when Matt did, so we can all totally relate.
We gathered with our ol’ 20somethings group. What a great visit. Thanks guys!
Rae was the star of the show.
We then headed to Kitchener to see friends from a long time ago, and that was super! They just had their first baby too, and it’s a girl. We hope they will be best buds. Ramona Mae and Miah Jade. What a pair!
We didn’t have that much snow, at least not as much as we thought anyway…we didn’t even go sledding, but we did get a couple photos of snow just to prove to ya’ll that it is cold up there, but wouldn’t you know, its got up to 8degrees Celsius when we were there, that is in the 40’s…its was like Texas in a way, because we are having all this warm weather here, too.
But you know, its good to be back. To our house and our routine. Vacations are great but that one was quite busy. I don’t think we’ll do it like that again, but even still, it was worth it! I don’t think I will ever stay away from my home town for that long again. ( 1 year ) And it felt like that too. A lot has changed and there is nothing wrong with change.
So Matt got to spend more time with Rae on the trip, and he LOVED that. They bonded. I am sure he is missing her now that he is back to work and school. Bless his heart.
All and all it was great great great trip.
We were encouraged and loved and amazed and hugged.
We were inspired and reflected on how the year was different.
We were blessed, incredibly blessed by friends and family,
We’ll never forget your generousity, support, and hospitality,
We were astounded at the distance love expands in family.
Then…
We got tried and worn down and cranky,
But we quickly reflected back on what we were doing.
This is a time of excitement and energy, when we get home, we’ll be able to really…
Sleep.
And we did.
What a fabulous trip.,
Special thanks to Peggy Martin for making it all happen.
God Bless you all!
Please keep in touch !
