So I thought....
So, I think anyone that knows me well, would say that I am an outdoor-ise kinda girl, camping, hiking, canoeing, etc...Right? Well, yah, I totally thought so, growing up in the climate that I did, I think it was no problem being that kinda girl... But you know in hotter climates its not extactly the same, you are battling a whole different group of species.
Anyways, the reason I bring all this up...I confess to you my weakness because its been quite interesting living in our little cottage with all the lovely new creatures that I am meeting. Now I don't really mind meeting them outside the house, but in the house, I can have a little bit of a freak out.
For example: the other night, early last week sometime, Matt was up late and I woke up to see a GIGANTIC centipede on the wall. Now, I did not know what that was at the time, I thought maybe a catipillar, since I didn't have my glasses on and it was quite late...So I yelled for Matt and said WHAT IS THAT? His response, being JUST ANOTHER BUG. OH !Okay, so I fall back asleep.
Just another bug, I thought to myself, hmm, that thing was 5 inches long, how could that be just another bug...!#@#$!#$# It was some kinda bug....
So I was babysitting the next morning telling the woman I was helping out all about the event and she said THAT IS A CENTIPEDE ! Immediately my skin goes crazy and I get goosebumps everywhere and I start to feel nauseous. She explains all these things about them and how she had to battle with them when they lived out in the hill country...
I called Matt, WHY DID YOU NOT TELL ME IT WAS A CENTIPEDE @#%$@# Well, actually, at first I asked him calmly, "what kinda bug was that last night?" and there was silence on the other end and before he could answer I said, A CENTIPEDE !!! I hear a sigh like, 'here we go again,' kinda sigh. Anyways, it took me a good amount of days to calm down from that. They are long and gross, UCKK! I cant even talk about it, or explain what they look like. If you are interested then you should look them up.
So Matt called James, the guy that is renting us this house and he said that the bug guy is coming on Friday, so that was perfect !! He will come and kill'em all !!!
SO Friday comes and goes and then this week comes.
So after all that I was start to feel good about everything back at the house, getting ready for the baby and all of a sudden 2 days ago I see aNOTHER CENTIPEDE ! This one about half as long, thank goodness or I don't think I would be able to kill it... I grabbed the phone as my knees started to shake ( why on earth am I so afraid of something so harmless??) "Matt, there's another one..." And so he had to coach me through to kill it ( with my shoe) and of course it feel back behind Matt's desk so I couldn't see if I actually got 'em ! Doesn't that drive you nuts?? Well it does for me.....So it took me several minutes to regain my composure and motivation to finish the things in the house that I wanted to do that day. I felt that these yuckie little bugs were invading my schedule and space...But if you look at our house and where its located, we're kinda in their space. We are in the middle of a forest ( kinda ) but its almost like its swap land.
Anyway, interesting time its been, getting ready for the baby and trying to keep out these unwanted creatures, but also that I don't need to react the way I do, cause I am not in harms' way.....At least we don't have rattle snakes in our backyard...
They are here in Texas, but not in this area..At least that is what I have been told, so I just hope I never encounter one.
So, for those who think I am an outdoor-ise gal, I am sorry to have let you down. Perhaps I will get use to this or maybe this is preparing for a place we will go next. God only knows !
Thanks for reading...

Kelly, That was so funny! I used to be really afraid of bugs. I still don't like them but I've gotten over it a little bit. But then again, I've never had a centipede inside my house -just big ugly roaches!
By the way, your baby is precious!
